Heather Addison

Prof. Dr. Heather Addison has been the chair of the Department of Film at the University of Nevada Las Vegas since 2016. Under her leadership, UNLV became a member of CILECT in 2018, at the Congress in Mumbai, India. She has a distinguished record of leadership in UFVA, the University Film and Video Association, having served continuously on the board for the last fourteen years in multiple roles, including President, Conference Vice-President, and Treasurer.

 

As a scholar, her primary research area is Hollywood's relationship to American culture. At UNLV, she co-wrote a $271,000 National Endowment for the Humanities grant that catalogued and preserved materials in the Department of Film’s Howard Hughes Motion Picture Production Records (now available in Special Collections & Archives at the UNLV Library). Addison has published her work in a large number of scholarly journals and books.
