Congress 2025
The conference will address the contemporary challenge of answering the critical questions: “What films to make?”, “For whom to make them?” and “Why make them?” It seeks to create a space for dialogue between educators who share the mission of inspiring the next generation of filmmakers, encouraging deep reflection on the responsibility of cinema in society today and the transformative role of education in the creation of meaningful and engaged films.
Subjects may include but are not limited to:
• Ethics and responsibility in film education.
• Training of students to take the social impact of cinema into account in their projects.
• Educational approaches that influence motivation, critical thinking and creative
development.
• Curricular re-design for diverse and inclusive narratives.
• Cultural and social diversity integration into teaching.
About Universidad de Guadalajara
The University of Guadalajara is an institution that has inherited an educational tradition of more than two hundred years of history. The Audiovisual Arts degree has the mission of training audiovisual production professionals who apply their analytical skills and professional competencies with dedication, responsibility and honesty. Young filmmakers committed to social welfare and a constant search for innovative cinema, with national identity, but which also strengthens and consolidates the union of Latin American and Caribbean peoples.
