Bruce Sheridan

Professor Bruce Sheridan is a drama and documentary filmmaker who teaches directing in the School of Film and Television graduate and undergraduate degrees. He was Columbia College Chicago Film and Video Department Chair 2001-2017. Professor Sheridan served as CILECT North America (CNA) Regional Council Chair 2014-2018, and CILECT President 2018-2024. He is currently Chair of the CILECT Developing Technologies Standing Committee (DTSC). Bruce Sheridan has directed or produced several documentaries, including Perfectly Frank, Spellbound, and Head Games. He won the 1999 New Zealand Best Drama Award as producer of the tele-feature Lawless. He investigates predictive mind, learning, and AI in audiovisual media education. His creative research focuses on play, collaboration, and improvisation.
